My San Antone- Sept. 22, 2008 San Antonio is a great city. It’s not only known for it’s NBA champion Spurs and the historic Alamo, but also it’s great culture. The SSB have been here before, but this time we opened for the great Santana band at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. With each show, the SSB’s Music is growing tighter and tighter with this classic lineup. Its helpful to be in the company of great musicians like the Santana band, who we all love and respect. On our day off after the show, we ran into Dave Brubeck and the Jazz on the Latin Side All Stars, who were performing a free show in the park just a block away from our hotel. Here, we ran into members of the Santana band and had a huge hang between all musicians in attendance. No money can buy this much fun. To top off my San Antonio experience, Crunchy and I had the greatest meal in one of this city’s greatest restaurants Mi Tierra. I can’t wait till my next visit to this great cultural city.

Albuquerque, NM- Sept. 14th, 2008 Albuquerque, New Mexico – high altitude, wide open land and beautiful scenic views. The venue we played, Journal Pavilion, seemed like an oasis in the middle of the desert. On way there we traveled long roads surrounded by sand and shrubs, the venue was tucked away deep into the landscape. The location itself must have been chosen for it’s remote distance from city lights and sounds, and with the moon in full circumference the stage was set for music magic. |
